For its 10th year, Niji Sushi will find out who Australia’s fastest sushi eater is! The record is 1 minute 42 seconds set by the previously ranked #1 in Australia, Isaac H-D. This year though, there’s not just one platter the Professional eaters have to get through, there’s two! And if they do, they win $1,000!
This year in conjunction with the Kingsford Chamber of Commerce, the competition will be held in the Meeks Street Mall, across the road from Niji Sushi. It’ll be a show not to be missed!
Amateur Contestants will have 10 minutes to finish 50 pieces of sushi and rolls, and 1 wasabi ball. The Professional Division will require eaters to eat 100 pieces of sushi and 2 wasabi balls. The competition will be fierce! And the prizes are amazing!
The Professional division will have a 1st place prize of $1,000, 2nd place $250 and 3rd place $100. Finish 2 platters in 10 minutes and the $75 entry fee is reimbursed. Finish one platter in 10 minutes and $35 will be reimbursed.
The Amateur Division will have a 1st place prize of $200, 2nd place $100, and 3rd place $50. Finish the platter in 10 minutes and the $50 entry fee will be reimbursed.
